T-Ester nursing bottles are UV Sterilizer friendly, it is advised to position the nursing bottles at least one inch away from the heating element of the UV Sterilizer for optimal results.
The white and brown dots are the characteristics of the T-Ester material; thus they are unavoidable and are harmless to the babies.
We would like to assure you that our T-Ester Nursing Bottles have undergone strict compliance hygiene tests on food contact materials in accordance with the regulation laws of European Standard (EN14350) to conform to the highest quality standards and are safe for their intended use.
The nipple hole and the ventilation valve (vent) on the nipple flange could be clogged with milk residues. When the hole is clogged, milk does not flow easily. This may lead to situations whereby the nipple collapses and caves in towards the bottle. To prevent this, keep the nipple hole and vent clear so that they will not be clogged with milk residues. When you wash the nipple with washing detergent, gently use your fingers to rub clean the ventilation valves and vent. Please be careful not to pull and/or wash the ventilation valve too hard as the ventilation valve or vent may split and cause leaks.
Silicone rubber can be slightly delicate, and sensitive to tearing. Also, since the rubber is thin at the tip of the nipple, it may tear as a result of physical force even if it has not been used so many times. The “Y Cross Cut Nipple” in particular tends to split easily, as it has notches in three directions as compared to nipples with round holes. Please use a nipple brush when washing the nipple. Push the tip of the nipple with your fingers so that the nipple brush does not break through the tip of the nipple when washing it.
If the vent or ventilation valve does not function properly, or your baby’s sucking power is too strong to adequately vent the bottle, it may lead to unexpected accidents such as the nipple collapsing, the nipple caving in towards the bottle, or your baby’s lips and tongue getting caught. The bubbles that appear in the bottle while your baby is drinking are a sure sign that the ventilation is working correctly. In cases when bubbles do not appear in the bottle, the nipple collapses when your baby’s mouth is not attached to the nipple, the nipple caves in towards the bottle or is dislodged, please check the following points. For SofTouch™ Peristaltic PLUS Wide-Neck Nipple
Is the ventilation valve clogged by milk residues, or anything else?
If so, please wash the valve gently with your fingers.
Does the nipple match the baby's suction power?
If the baby's suction power is strong and the nipple collapses, please use a nipple with the next highest milk flow after the currently used nipple. For Peristaltic Slim-Neck Nipple
Is the vent clogged with milk residues or anything else?
If so, gently use a nipple brush to clean the residues of the vent area with our PIGEON liquid cleanser. Be careful not to pierce the vent area, as widening may lead to milk leakage.
Does the nipple match with the baby's suction power?
If the baby's suction power is strong and the nipple collapses, please use a nipple with the next highest milk flow after the currently used nipple.
In the case of the nipple hole being round, milk may gush out when you turn the bottle upside down after making the formula in the bottle. This phenomenon is caused by the air in the bottle expanding due to the warm temperature of the milk, and the milk is then pushed out. After a while, it will settle down, and the milk will start dripping instead – this is the time to bottle feed your baby. You may also remove the screw cap once after making the formula in the bottle, then screw the screw cap on again so that the air pressure in the bottle is reduced and the milk does not gush out easily.
Your baby’s age, duration of feeding time and drinking amount will be your guide for choosing the best nipple hole size. Babies of the same age will have different requirements. So select the best size according to the development of your baby. When your baby is taking longer times to finish drinking, even if ventilation is working well or the nipple keeps collapsing, please upgrade to the next size. Also, if your baby grows comfortable with one certain nipple, he or she may object if you change to a new one. Rotate the use of 2 or more nipples for about 2 months before replacing them.
Pigeon has wide-neck nursing bottles (SofTouch™ Peristaltic PLUS Nursing Bottle and Mag Mag Training cup) and non-wide bottles (slim-neck type). Wide-neck nursing bottles are interchangeable, but they are incompatible with slim-neck nursing bottles, so they cannot be used as a set.
If your baby grows comfortable with one certain nipple, he or she may object if you change to a new one. Rotate the use of 2 or more nipples for about 2 months before replacing them. To prevent the nipples from becoming worn out, replace them earlier if necessary, without regard to how many times they have been used. (Regarding isoprene rubber nipples previously sold, those can be used for three to four weeks when two or more nipples alternate.) The nipples may be worn by biting. Special attention is needed for teething child.
Babies transit better from breast to bottle feeding with wide-neck bottles as their mouth open widely when sucking from their mother’s breast. So it is advisable for babies to try on the wide-neck bottles to allow baby to use their natural sucking motion learned at the breast.
SofTouch Peristaltic PLUS™ nipples feature a unique valve with an air ventilation system (AVS™) to enable smooth and comfortable sucking. The bubbles that appear in the bottle form as a result of this system, and are a sign that the ventilation is working correctly. If bubbles do not appear in the bottle, it means that the milk is not flowing properly, and the cap should be slightly loosened for optimal performance.
The recommended time for each feeding is 10-15 minutes. If your baby is taking 20 minutes or longer, you may want to switch to an M-size or Y-cut nipple.
Yes. Milk contains fat and protein that cannot be washed away using just plain water. Before sterilising the bottles, be sure to wash them clean with washing detergent and rinse them thoroughly. We recommend using PIGEON liquid cleanser to wash the bottles and nipples as it is made with 100% food grade ingredients, and therefore a safer option as compared with general dish-washing detergent.
Ultraviolet (UV) rays found in UV Sterilizers accelerate the deterioration of Silicone Nipple, resulting in the degrading of silicone material and lead to hardening of silicone material which may cause crack and tear on products. Plastic parts such as bottles and bottle caps may also deteriorate due to UV rays. Hence, we do not recommend UV Sterilization to be used for PIGEON Products made of plastic and silicone material such as our Nursing Bottles & Nipples.
