What To Do To Maintain Good Baby Dental Care From Time To Time?

Parents around the world would have to agree that life is like a constant war when it comes to Oral Hygiene Care for the children. Regardless of how ferocious the battle is, it is compulsory not to give up and to take a good care of oral hygiene for the little ones to make sure their oral health is optimum, that is until they can take care of themselves perfectly. Here is what you can do as a parent to maintain a good Child Oral Care from time to time.

For the newborns without teeth: every time after breastfeeding or bottle feeding, using a clean piece of cloth or towel, wet it with clean water, then wipe your baby’s mouth, gums, tongue and palate thoroughly.

As soon as the first tooth erupted: usually at 6 months old, get an appropriate toothbrush according to the baby’s age. It is usually shown on the products. Many different types of toothbrush at this stage can be chosen according to your own and your child’s comfort such as fingertip toothbrush initially, or any baby toothbrush available on the market, then toddler’s and kid’s toothbrush as they grow up. Change the toothbrush every 3 months.

Use the proper type and amount of Fluoridated Toothpaste according to their age, which also usually written on the package. For children ages 6 month – 3 years old, a smear layer on the toothbrush should be enough. After that for children ages 3-6 years old, a small pea size is recommended. Make sure they do not swallow the toothpaste!

Last but not least, be creative and make it fun! Instead of scolding them to go brush their teeth and stressing them and yourself out, try to educate them properly, take them to visit a great dentist to teach them the correct way of toothbrushing, get a regular check up every six months, and join them and make it as a family activity of toothbrushing every morning and night. Make it until they themselves cannot live a day without brushing their teeth.
