Since 2016, Pigeon Malaysia (Trading) Sdn. Bhd. (PMY) has been collaborating with the Cleft Lip & Palate Association Malaysia (CLAPAM) to raise awareness about nursing bottles and teats designed specifically for babies with cleft lip and/or palate. This valuable partnership aims to provide support and knowledge to individuals born with a cleft condition, ensuring they receive optimal care and treatment.

CLAPAM, a non-profit and non-governmental organization, is comprised of dedicated volunteers, including parents with children born with a cleft condition, adults living with cleft, and healthcare professionals specializing in cleft management. Their mission is to assist individuals with cleft lip and palate by providing them with essential knowledge and support throughout their journey.

In Malaysia, approximately 1 in every 600-700 live births is affected by a cleft condition. CLAPAM recognizes the significance of empowering these individuals with accurate information and guidance to effectively manage and treat their condition. As part of their efforts, CLAPAM introduces and offers Pigeon’s nursing bottles and teats designed for babies with cleft lip and palate to their patients.

PMY’s commitment extends beyond supporting individuals and their families directly. The company actively participates in events like the National Pediatric Plastic Surgery Symposium, leveraging such platforms to raise awareness about nursing bottles and teats for babies with cleft lip and/or palate among healthcare professionals. Through these engagements, PMY aims to ensure that medical experts are well-informed about this specialized product, ultimately benefiting their patients.

In line with their dedication to enhancing care for babies with cleft lip and palate, PMY has forged partnerships with 80 Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) across Malaysia. These medical facilities recommend and offer Pigeon’s nursing bottles and teats specifically designed for babies with cleft lip and/or palate to their patients. This strategic collaboration ensures that infants in need receive the appropriate feeding tools to support their development and overall well-being.

Pigeon Malaysia and CLAPAM are committed to maintaining and expanding their joint initiative. By creating an environment that cherishes and nurtures the uniqueness of each baby, they strive to make the world a more baby-friendly place. Through ongoing collaborations, awareness campaigns, and partnerships with healthcare professionals and institutions, they aim to provide comprehensive support and resources to individuals affected by cleft lip and palate.
