The teat may collapse or cave in if the vent or ventilation valve is not functioning properly or if your baby’s sucking power is too strong, causing inadequate venting. Proper ventilation is indicated by bubbles in the bottle while your baby is drinking. If no bubbles appear, and the teat collapses or dislodges, please check the following:

For SofTouch™ Wide Neck teat:

  • Is the ventilation valve clogged with milk residues? If so, gently wash it with your fingers.
  • Does the teat match your baby’s suction power? If the teat collapses due to strong suction, switch to a teat with a higher milk flow.

For Flexible Slim Neck teat:

  • Is the vent clogged with milk residues? If so, use a teat brush and PIGEON liquid cleanser to clean the vent area, being careful not to pierce it.
  • Does the teat match your baby’s suction power? If the teat collapses due to strong suction, switch to a teat with a higher milk flow.
